Content theft is not an attractive issue. Many bloggers that are in the business for a while have already had to experience this. Sometimes, content was ever so slightly changed, sometimes it was a blunt copy. This brings up the question what can be done to prevent content theft. First things first: You’re definitely not alone with this problem. I’ve had one of my most successful content stolen, as well as one of my themes. I was able to solve both of these issues with a couple of “friendly” words in an email. However, you need to be aware of the harsh reality: this is the internet. Thus, there can be no absolute protection from theft of intellectual property. Nonetheless, there are a couple of things that make it more difficult for the thieves. Preventing Content Theft Prevention is always better than aftercare. For that reason, I’ll give you some tips that will often let you prevent someone from stealing your content. 1 – Cater for a Clear Copyright You need to make very clear what you want to allow others to do when it comes to your texts. Every visitor has to be able to find and view your […]

In February of 2015, I began working on an iOS app called Air Lookout. The goal of the app was to simplify and remove any obfuscation of air quality information. After over a year of working nights and weekends, the total net income since it launched in 2016 has been less than $1,000. Even with those numbers, I would relive every hour of work. The one thing that I can't place a monetary value on is how the experience of creating Air Lookout has completely changed my mind on the process of design and development for every project I have worked on since.
In today’s video tutorial we’re going to look at creating a photo effect inspired by the loading screens and cover artwork of the Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA) game, which feature a life-like illustration style of the characters but with a clear digitally painted appearance. While the first part of our series dealt with the right domain and a suitable web host, the second part was about essential equipment, plugins and the choice of good themes for your blog. Today, we’ll talk about the thing that makes you a blogger: content. Well, not only content but addictive content! Good content is what makes the internet, and turns blogs into what they should be: an inspiring source of knowledge with a perfect presentation. Bloggers have a significant advantage over traditional journalism. They can express their personality in their articles, allowing them to develop a unique style. Let’s get on with a few tips I can give you from my experience. Write For Your Readers, Not For Google You should do that, as there’s way too much content that wasn’t written for the readers, but rather directly for Google. On the one hand, this gives you an advantage in the search index, on the other hand, however, you let lots of potential go to waste. Those that optimize their posts for readers will gain significantly more visitors in the long run. Readers share posts they like. This is mainly done via Facebook. Facebook can be a massive […]
