Thomas Vortuba has a new tutorial posted to his site showing how to easily switch from PHP_CdeSniffer to EasyCodingStandard for enforcing the structure and syntax of your PHP application's code. Last year, I helped Shopsys Coding Standards and LMC PHP Coding Standard to migrate from PHP_CodeSniffer to EasyCodingStandard. There are a few simple A ? B changes, but one has to know about them or will get stuck. Do you also use PHP_CodeSniffer and give it EasyCodingStandard a try? Today we look at how to migrate step by step. The post then walks you through the five-step process and lists out the major changes: From String Codes to Autocompleted Classes From @codingStandardsIgnoreStart to skip Parameter From 0 and to skip Parameter From XML to YML Config Paths Configuring Sniff Values From Severity and Warning to Just Errors From Beautifier to --fix option Each step includes either the command required, the configuration changes to make or code examples of the refactor to help illustrate the changes.

In other words, tech companies that know the intricacies and facts about human behavior and habits can significantly simplify hitting marketing and sales goals. Not only that, but there is also the trap of crossing over to "the dark side" of UX design … Continue reading →Visit us at InstantShift.com

(This article is kindly sponsored by Adobe.) You are working on a project for your client, designing the interface for a new application. There have been lots of meetings about the new product, and now it's time for you to start working on sketching and prototyping a design. The screens, pages, and forms you are about to create have to fit within the desires and constraints of several players — the marketing department, the developers, the business owner.
This article will be about how large teams can benefit from using more open, collaborative tooling and how to make adoption and migration feasible and pleasant. Also, in case you didn't guess from the title of the article just yet, a lot of it will be about Figma and how we succeeded at adopting this design tool in our team. The intended audience is experienced designers working in larger teams with design systems, developers or product managers looking to improve the way cross-functional teams work in their organization.
